While people may be waiting for Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, or Deus Ex, nothing has managed to make me smile as much as this game has.
@Biggunz
Why is Taiwan under the evil-doers category?
Hopefully if this game does well High Moon Studios will be allowed a little more freedom with the Transformers franchise in the future.
More vocabulary!!
I am going nuts shoving words into my head for the GRE.
Probably the important difference that most don't seem to realize about these TVs are the type of 3D that they produce.
The Sony relies on the active shutter glasses, whereas the Vizio uses polarised glases. A 30 Hz refresh rate is painful on the active shutters because your eyes most likely are aware of light being block half the time in a second.
The passive polarized displays never stop the flow of light that goes into your eyes, however it will be di...
Halo's vehicle animations are essentially instantaneous. If I recall correctly you can drive the vehicle even though your character is boarding it.
I find it funny that several years ago EA was villain, yet now their image has done a 180 and now it is Activision that is evil.
Halo innovation.... hmmmm... like a donut or torus maybe...
on topic:
I look forward to what 343 Industries can do to the franchise. With a new studio and a new trilogy this next Halo has the potential to stand out. Luckily it sounds like there are many developers that have worked on Halo at 343 Industries who know how to treat the franchise.
Nintendo likes to frustrate us. All the games that I would buy aren't being localized. OK Nintendo if you don't like money I guess that's your problem. It's not like you actually have to localize it for a release in the Americas since you are already releasing it in Europe.
I know what you mean. I weep a little inside everytime my roommate fawns over the next iteration COD. I even try to show him other shooters like Battlefield 3, but he doesn't even consider them. I assume this is how most of the population thinks unfortunately.
*Hold all three games and cries with you*
I hate it when the small studios close down. They are always the ones that are willing to take chances with their games ironically.
"It’s crosshair-like attack system requires you to actually be facing your enemy in order to deal damage. In other words, you will need to exhibit skill if you want the kill.... In other words, don’t just stand in one place pounding on your 1 key."
I might like this MMO. I have always hated MMOs like WOW where a mob of people just sit there raining fire down on an enemy by clicking one of the plethora of hotkeys. The enemy is just effectively a model for eyecandy ...
Arkham Asylum caught me off-guard. It was one of the best games I have played in recent years. My only complaints with the last game was the tacked on Joker fight and the enemies took turns in combat. By the sound of it Rocksteady is making combat much hectic in Arkham City while maintaining fluidity that was present in the first game.
Final bosses and and the end of games are always a difficult challenge for developers. There is always a tendency to go into quicktime eve...
What?!?! You don't like sniper pistols with lots of ammo?
It doesn't matter if the game has the best graphics ever. Ninja Theory needs to ensure that they lock the frame-rate at 30 or higher. The low frame-rate of Enslaved was nauseating and nearly killed the experience for me. I had to put the game down several times because I would develop a headache. Action games just require a good frame-rate.
I am aware of that the footage Nintendo showed was PS3 and Xbox footage. If they wanted boast that the Wii U is powerful then they ought to have shown PC footage instead. From the few tech demos or "experiences" as Reggie put it (Japanese garden or Zelda concept) the console does not look like will be a drastic improvement over current consoles.
So.... I still stand by my original point that it will be difficult to generate adoption.
I never thought that movies would be the real driving factor for 3D. In my opinion it will be games that brings about a 3D revolution. If it doesn't happen now due to limitations in technology it will happen in the future. The audience that games target is expanding, so eventually there will be a demand.
I remember looking at some 3D demos for a large Mistubishi TV at my local Fry's. The most memorable was Mirror's Edge in 3D. Altering the depth and field of ...
They are one and the same now. HDTVs with fast refresh rates are essentially 3DTVs once you slap the transmitter on.
I almost think that Nintendo is releasing the Wii U either too soon or too late. From the footage that we have seen, the machine looks only to be slightly better than current consoles. This means Wii U (if it's stronger) multiplats will be held back by Xbox 360 and PS3 giving little reason to purchase another system.
Also if the graphics aren't a level above the PS3 and Xbox 360 there will be little reason to create any third party exclusives that pull people in dur...
I was actually impressed by Onlive when my roommate installed it on his laptop. There was indeed a little bit of lag that I would never accept in my gaming lifestyle, but for my roommate who only has integrated graphics -- he was more than happy.
Now I don't how this service works outside of the university's ~100 Mbit connections, but it worked adequately well when you have a decent internet connection.
